Rotary Kiln

The VIRA Engineering Rotary Kiln is a versatile thermal processing device designed for continuous calcination, roasting, sintering, and pyro-processing of bulk solids. It is extensively used in cement, metallurgy, chemical, lime, refractory, and waste processing industries.

The rotary kiln is a cylindrical steel shell, slightly inclined to the horizontal and supported on rollers. It rotates slowly on its axis, allowing material to move gradually from the feed end to the discharge end. A burner, mounted at the discharge end, produces the necessary process temperature using fuels such as coal, gas, oil, or petroleum coke. Hot gases flow counter-current to the material, ensuring efficient heat transfer and uniform processing.

Advantages

  • High thermal efficiency with uniform heating
  • Suitable for processing a wide range of materials
  • Continuous operation for large-scale production
  • Flexibility to use multiple fuel sources (coal, gas, oil, pet coke, alternative fuels)
  • Robust and durable design with refractory lining
  • Proven technology with long service life
